Amouage, the High Perfumery House from Oman, reopened its newly renovated boutique at City Centre Muscat in Oman. The revamped space is part of the global and innovative architectural concept imagined by Amouage’s Chief Creative Officer, Renaud Salmon together with longstanding architectural collaborators, Héroïne. The space design features different interpretations of sand as a symbol of the impermanence and transience of our world. Behind the façade’s transparent glass structure, towering screens of golden particles, as if the sands of time suddenly revealed the treasures of the past, create a symbiosis of past, present, and future.
Monumental arches, dunes shapes on the walls, desert sand travertine tables, and the iconic silouhette of the Amouage bottles carved from sandstone surround the space. The bottles are testaments to sacred Omani architecture and mementos of the past that have endured their aesthetic appeal over time, and with the Gift of Kings shining through the center of the boutique.
Fittingly, Amouage perfumes are timeless creations that capture and reflect on time against the backdrop of the ephemerality of our world. As part of the circle of life, time is fleeting as each grain of sand slips through our fingers and represents a moment that has passed, taken by the winds of change as we move through time and history. However, sand can also transform into solid rocks and form memories worthy of preservation and commemoration in perpetuity, as we are ultimately creations of time, just like the perfumes of Amouage.
Following the success of the Eclipse at the Mall of Oman in April 2022, winner of the Global Architecture Design Award & German Design Award, and the scenic space at Muscat International Airport in May 2023 as well as the new Dubai Mall boutique, this space marks another milestone in the journey of refreshing and expanding existing stores, inviting loyal clientele and new visitors to dive wholeheartedly into the House’s high perfumery creations.
The Amouage boutique is located on the ground floor of City Centre Muscat and is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM and from 10 AM until midnight on Thursday and Friday.
