  • Exquisite Italian design, race-bred performance, cutting-edge technology, and luxury without compromise. The 2021 Maserati Quattroporte is a class apart

Born in 1963, the Maserati Quattroporte remains one of the most iconic models from the Italian marque. Always known for its exquisite styling, excellent performance, and technical prowess, the 2021 Quattroporte is everything we hoped the luxury sedan would be. On a day out with the four-door sedan, we understood why this is one of the most popular models from Maserati.

Our ride for the day was the Maserati Quattroporte S GranLusso MY 2021. The Italian luxury car manufacturer introduced unified design elements across three of its models this year, which include the Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante. The design features in the models are the new front grille and the new rear light clusters, which have a boomerang shape. In the Quattroporte, a chrome front grille adorns the Granlusso trim.

The design of the Quattroporte, which remains pretty similar to its predecessor, is sharp as ever, lending it an agile and athletic frame. Of course, the new trim and rear LED light clusters have taken the Quattroporte a notch up in the design department.

Inside, the 2021 model is luxurious, well-designed, and swathed in elegance. The central display, which is one of the highlights of the luxury sedan, has not only been upgraded in size but also features a modern look thanks to the frameless design. The central display is clean and uncluttered. There is not much to distract you while driving – changing music stations to checking the vitals of the car, it’s all quite simple when you don’t have too many knobs to navigate through.

While the interior is quite exquisite, Maserati does offer the option of outfitting the Quattroporte in premium perforated leather, Pieno Fiore natural leather, or Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery. The 900-watt 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system takes the experience of driving down the picturesque roads of Muscat while listening to Pink Floyd to another level. (Maserati has an optional 15-speaker, 1,280-watt Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System for the discerning.)

Maserati has always been at the top of their game when it comes to safety. The Quattroporte includes several features that support this aspect – adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward collision warning plus, lane-keeping assist, highway assist system, active blind spot assist, and a surround-view camera, among others.

Now for the drive review. We have driven several models from the marque and a personal favourite of the team is the Levante. But the Quattroporte never fails to leave us in awe. A true sports sedan with racing genes that also doubles up as a city car, the Quattroporte provides the most effortless yet inclusive drive. The agility and road handling are second to none; it’s difficult to tell when you move from driving the car to gliding in the sedan. Throw the Quattroporte against corners and sharp turns, it never lets you lose control. This is one car where you enjoy the thrill of driving a sports car knowing that you are in complete control.

The Maserati Quattroporte is the complete package – beautiful Italian design, race-bred performance, cutting-edge technology, and luxury without compromise. The Maserati Quattroporte S GranLusso MY 2021 ticks all the right boxes for us!
