Novikov, a brand that has held sway over well-travelled connoisseurs, has arrived in Oman and we can’t keep calm. The globally acclaimed brand has opened at the new luxury property, St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat. Novikov, which branches in London, Dubai, Moscow, and Miami, to name a few cities, brings culinary artistry to the Sultanate with its presence.

The Ambience

Exuding the charm of a French bistro, Novikov Café features a stylish and pleasing ambience. We love the décor and flair of Novikov Café. The open kitchen is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the café. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between, Novikov Café features an eclectic menu influenced by Mediterranean and Asian cuisines.

The Cuisine

Each Novikov franchise features a different theme. In Moscow, Novikov serves Pan-Asian cuisine while in London, there are two to choose from – Italian and Asian. Novikov Café Muscat features a blend of Mediterranean flavours together with Asian influences. At the helm of the Muscat outlet is Executive Chef Marco Lubian who has been working tirelessly with his team for the past few months to ensure that dining at Novikov Café is not just about food but about a sensory experience as well.

“While creating the menu, we worked with two important aspects. Respecting the brand, Novikov; our clients know us and expect the standard they are used to. The other is to respect the place we are in, which is Muscat and highlight the produce from here. Muscat has amazing seafood and we have incorporated various seafood varieties into the menu,” says Executive Chef Marco Lubian.

The Highlights

Within weeks of opening, Novikov Café has quickly become a dining destination. Among the most popular choices from the menu are the Burrata, Novikov Wagyu Tacos, Lobster Linguine and King Crab Leg. Our tasting menu included Crispy Duck Salad (Chef Marco’s special dish), Prawns Tempura, Lobster Linguine, and Grilled Prawns.

The Crispy Duck Salad was a beautiful symphony of flavours with the duck holding its own space amidst the medley of cress, pine nuts, pomegranate and chef’s special duck sauce. Both the prawn dishes were subtle in flavours yet packed a punch in taste. A pure indulgence for the palate, the Lobster Linguine was simply exquisite.

The dessert counter at Novikov Café is one not to be missed. We wrapped up the tasting session with a decadent Berry Tart which was refreshing and light.
