The allure of Thai food is often irresistible. Fresh ingredients, fragrant herbs, and warm spices are some of the most appealing elements of Thai cuisine. Bringing the exquisite tastes of Thailand to Muscat is Charm Thai at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC. The charming Thai restaurant has two delightful gastronomic events that begin this month.
The Royal Feast Menu, launched on July 19, focuses on a family-style dining experience. Guests will be treated to a variety of traditional Thai dishes, starting with an array of delightful starters. The menu includes Goong Sa-Rong, which features crisp-fried prawns wrapped in yellow noodles, and Jang Ron Pla, red curry marinated hammour cakes with coconut flakes. Additionally, Tung Thong offers root vegetable money bags with shiitake mushrooms, Saku Sai Gai provides steamed sago seed with minced chicken, and Nua Yang Nam Jim presents chargrilled beef striploin with e-san sauce.
For the main course, diners can savour Ped Obb Nam Poung, a 24-hour Thai herb marinated and slow-roasted whole duck. This exquisite dish is complemented by several delectable sides, including Chu-Chee Goong Nang, red curry jumbo prawns with Kaffir lime, and Gai Phad Mad Ma-Moung, wok-fried chicken and cashew nuts. Also, on offer are Phad Ka-Na Hed Hom, stir-fried broccoli and shiitake mushrooms in oyster sauce, Phad Thai Goong Yai, stir-fried rice noodles with prawns, tamarind sauce, and roasted nuts, and Kao Suay, steamed jasmine rice. The meal concludes with a delightful dessert of Thai exotic fruit salad and Thai sticky rice with sweet mango and coconut rice balls.
From July 25, the restaurant will be introducing a Grape Pairing Menu, designed to highlight the harmony between exquisite Thai dishes and grape beverages. The evening begins with Goong Thod Phuket, a crisp-fried jumbo prawn wrapped in rice vermicelli served on a Thai spiced exotic fruit salsa, paired with Spain.
The second course features Aok Ped Yang, char-grilled marinated duck breast served on a bed of King Asparagus and drizzled with Tamarind sauce, paired with New Zealand. This is followed by Gai Tom Kra-Ti, a tender chicken breast stewed in coconut milk and young galangal, paired with Australia.
For the main course, guests can choose between Nua Ko-Rat Yang Prick Thai, char-grilled Angus beef with green curry baby potatoes and Isaan dressing, or Pla Thod Prick Gaeng, crisp-fried seabass fillet served with creamy red curry sauce on a bed of som tum. Both dishes are paired with New Zealand. The dessert, Mamuang Nam Dok Mai-Katisod, a brule’d coconut and mango galette served with coconut gelato, is paired with a refreshing Mango Cooler.
