Muscat’s Qurum Natural Park has become an exquisite panorama of fragrances, colours, and art. The first Muscat Flower Festival is underway bringing artists and blooms from across the globe. The Muscat Flower Festival, which has been introduced as part of the Muscat Nights Festival, began on December 23 and will continue till January 21, 2025.

The Muscat Flower Festival features stunning floral designs by floral artists worldwide, including Oman’s acclaimed Madhvi Ramesh Khimji and her group of local designers. Incidentally, Oman is the first country in the GCC to join the World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA).

The flower festival showcases over one million flowers from over 20 countries, including the USA, the Netherlands, Africa, Malaysia, and South America which are being artistically displayed across the park through installations and floral exhibits.
The iconic centrepiece at the festival is titled Roots of Wonders, Canopies of Dreams, and measures 9m in height on the highest point of the display. The festival also features captivating Show Gardens that have been specially created by an international team that includes artists from Singapore, Thailand, China and the USA.
As you enter the festival, the two sides of the walkway are flanked by floral installations designed by Madhvi Ramesh Khimji along with her team. A renowned floral artist, Khimji has carved a niche for herself in the world of floral artistry. “I love flowers. They give me so much happiness. My floral works at the festival have been inspired by Oman – the landscape, the deserts, the sunsets…,” said Khimji. “Flowers are healers. Everyone should visit the flower festival to experience the joy of flowers.”

The flower festival features floral installations and exhibits by different designers, one of whom is Bill Schaffer. A third-generation American florist and designer, Bill Schaffer has created stunning works of floral art at the festival that are sprinkled across the park. “I am delighted to be at a beautiful venue to showcase our works. My love for flowers is lifelong, having grown up in a family that was in the floral business. We have created quite a few floral installations in the park which include an exhibit called Joy, the Bamboo Garden and Fields of Unity. These works, which I like to refer to as temporary art, are all about creating smiles and bringing happiness,” said Schaffer.
The Muscat Flower Festival also features a marketplace where local vendors retail flowers, handmade crafts, and food and beverages.
